Job Description for Engineering Team Manager

As an Engineering Team Manager, your main mission is to lead project teams of Electrical engineers in automotive electronics for Aptiv’s divisions.  Engineers will design and develop the application of the HW platform into customer projects for world-class vehicle systems. 

Your Role

• Manage Electrical Engineering teams assigned to customer projects

• Ensure successful execution of customer projects according to our guidelines

• Provide manager-level interface to internal and external customers to avoid concern escalation.

• Define project breakdown to control Roll-in / out in the execution.

• Maintain a management operating system to review KPIs that impact our Wildly Important Goals

• Ensure material cost reduction designs are implemented per corporate targets

• Manage resource and capital budget for EE team

• Lead talent and skills development of EE group

• Enable teams to adopt new HW processes for ASPICE and Agile methods

Your Background

• Bachelor, Master or PhD degree in Engineering

• Several years of professional experience in an international company, preferably in the automotive or electronics industry

• Good understanding of Electronics and Design cycle.

• Knowledge of CAD tools, PCB technologies and awareness of EMI/EMC problems

• Previous team lead experience, or extensive automotive project leadership experience

• Strong focus on interpersonal skills – willingness to develop

• Excellent communication and presentation skills

• Ability to solve problems - creativity

• Fluency in English
